Not surprisingly, the successful League of Legends Arcane spinoff cartoon will get a second series. Confirming the news, the show’s official Twitter account said, “Get ready, folks. Arcane Season 2 is now in production. Where’s a Hexgate when you need it?”

The collaboration between Riot Games and Netflix has been so popular that League of Legends selection rates for characters featured in the series have skyrocketed. Apparently, this popularity is well deserved. As Steven Messner wrote in his review of the first act of Arcane, “The curse of video game movies and TV spinoffs being shit is well and truly broken, and Netflix’s Arcane has dealt the killing blow.” He praised her pictorial art style and kinetic fight scenes, as well as her balance between political drama and character development.
This week, Riot also surprisingly released two new games, Ruined King and Hextech Mayhem, which are the first games released under its Riot Forge label. Ruined King was developed by Airship Syndicate and features JRPG-style combat similar to the studio’s previous game, Battle Chasers: Nightwar, while Hextech Mayhem is a rhythm runner from Choice Provisions, creator of the Bit.Trip series.
The premiere date for Arcane Season 2 has yet to be announced and it has not been confirmed if it will follow the same three-act format over three weeks.
