The Aadhaar number can also be used to apply for a PAN card, which is another essential document required mainly by taxpayers. The card with a unique 10-digit alphanumeric number is issued by the income tax department to keep a record of all an individual’s tax information in order to prevent tax evasion. A PAN card plays an important role when receiving tax refunds in addition to paying income tax. That said, having an Aadhaar card eliminates the hassle of filling out a detailed application to apply for a PAN card. How to Apply for Instant PAN Card Via Aadhaar Card in Simple Steps
Step 1- Visit the official IT department electronic fill home page. Also Read – How to Change Photo of Aadhaar Card: Step by Step Guide
Step 2- Once the page opens, click on the âInstant E-PANâ option in the âQuick Linksâ section of the home page. It will redirect you to the instant PAN allotment webpage.
Step 3- Then click on the âObtain a new PANâ button.
Step 4- Next, enter your Aadhaar number for PAN assignment and check the “I confirm this” box, then press the “Continue” option.
Step 5- You will then receive an Aadhaar OTP on your registered cell phone number, enter it in the required field and click on the âValidate Aadhaar OTP and continueâ button.
Step 6- You will then be redirected to the OTP validation page. Accept the terms and conditions and click on the Continue button.
Step 7- Next, enter OTP, check the box and press the Continue button again.
Step 8- If your e-mail id is not validated, you can click on “Validate e-mail id”, enter the credentials, then click on the Continue button.
Step 9- You will then receive an Acknowledgment Number once you submit your Aadhaar details for validation. You can view the PAN assignment status just by entering your Aadhaar number.
To download the e-PAN, follow the first two steps, then click on the option “Check status / Download PAN”, enter your Aadhaar number and your captcha code, press the Submit icon, validate by entering the ‘OTP, and follow the process. If the PAN assignment was successful, a link to the PDF file will be generated within 10 minutes, download it and enter the password (date of birth in DDMMYYYY format) to access the file. Although the process is straightforward, the applicant should keep a note of the Aadhaar to be linked to the registered cell phone number.
